Company Information

We are a small independent company established 1983 providing UK payroll bureau services for small businesses.  From April 1996, we specialised in providing a comprehensive payroll service for all types of small companies. The processing of payrolls have been one of the main areas receiving attention as many small businesses, such as Architects, Clubs, Veterinary practices, Doctors, Dentists look to out source their non core and time consuming activities.

Our PAYE service is fully managed in-house.  We do not offshore nor do we re-outsource this activity. All payrolls are processed by fully trained qualified staff on our premises and checked by Institute of Payroll Professionals (IPP) qualified personnel prior to despatch to maintain accuracy.  All processing is checked using our own ISO 9001 accredited systems. We value the confidentiality of your data which is why we will never offshore your payroll.

Bacs Approved

BACS Approved LogoWe have passed the stringent security guidelines essential to be recognised as a BACS approved bureau. 

We can submit the net pay data directly to your bank  via the BASTEL-IP web service. More details is on our BACS submissions page.

We have gone through the rigours of certification for the ISO 9000 which has been awarded to us in recognition of our Quality Management Systems.  This prestigious award for quality is supported by the government and recognised worldwide.  Every stage of our payroll processing procedures and our internal systems will be checked by external auditors each year for compliance. 

The award recognises our commitment to exceptional quality of service.  With only around 3% of all UK businesses holding this certificate, we are in the forefront of quality service and customer care.

Training

 We require all our staff to have a recognised payroll qualification plus organisation and communication skills.  This in turn will provide a better payroll service to our clients.  We have also developed managerial strategies and training plans in line with the Investors In People framework. 

Improved efficiency and staff performance can only benefit our customers as it speeds up the payroll processing with minimal errors. The award recognises our commitment towards the training and development needs of our staff. 

 

IPP Member

Maureen Gordon MIPPdip IDM is qualified diploma holder with the Member of the IPP (The Institute of Payroll Professionals) and is a participant of their Continuous Personal Development scheme ensuring that we all keep abreast of the legislation goalposts. Maureen has previously written articles for the media on payroll and pension scheme matters and currently writes the monthly payroll newsletters.

Best Practice in the Development of Payroll People
The institute has recently introduced a new standard based quality award known as the “Payroll Quality Partnership” (PQP). Their vision is to become the Chartered body for all payroll professionals by 2010.
