PAYE THE COMPUPAYE WAY VIDEO LAUNCH
Practice managers and small businesses who are still trying to get their heads around the new changes in the 2009/10 Budget will no doubt be wondering whether their payroll systems or HR administrators can keep up.
With the government intending to review the underlying processes of PAYE to see if it can be improved upon to reduce costs to employers and the public purse, whilst still providing a high quality PAYE service, never before has payroll administration become more reliant on computerised systems.
On the advent of the new financial year, “PAYE The Compupaye Way,” a new state of the art video with all the elements of a movie trailer, was launched.
“We paid attention when HMRC hinted last autumn of changes to its banking arrangements,” said Maureen Gordon, MD of Compupaye Bureau. “We have now seen the first clear announcement of the new bank account details that will come into use when making monthly or quarterly payments to the Accounts Offices for 2009/10. This is one of the reasons why we felt now was the appropriate time to visually demonstrate the solutions we administer and how payroll is done at Compupaye.”
Also incorporated into their secure systems are plans for the new payroll-based pension savings scheme that is expected to be introduced in 2012. “That sounds a long way off,” said Maureen, “but the Pensions Act 2008 is already in place and we administer the NHS pensions for all out GP clients.”
The new ‘supertax’ is unlikely to affect Compupaye because the
HMRC approved software we use will provide for an extra band to cover earnings above £150,000 when from 2010-11 there will be an additional higher rate of 50 per cent for taxable income above £150,000.
“We will have to account for when the personal allowances will be removed for those employees earning over £100,000,” adds Maureen. “Also the pensions tax relief for those earning more than £150,000 will gradually be tapered from 40 per cent to 20 per cent in the coming year. If you are worried about the NICs thresholds and limits, prompted by new Regulations that introduce the changes to the NICs
recording requirement from April, read our
free budget report.
Changes like these often bring in new clients so it would be worthwhile for
small companies and GP practice managers to take a look at our
new video if they want to develop a quick understanding of how the
Compupaye Way can take away the hassles of payroll administration.”
If the new Budget has left you feeling out of your depth, then maybe it’s time for your tea break. Sit down, put your feet up and relax on the Compupaye website whilst you enjoy a three minute oasis on how the confusion of prescribed payroll procedures can be lifted from your shoulders.
PAYE The Compupaye Way is light relief, so don’t forget the biscuits.
